Behind the lens – Israel trip – First stop: Tel Aviv

Chase and I wanted to share with you our recent travels to Israel.  We were gone for 10 days, and took over a thousand images.  So….. we will have to pick our favorites and break this up in segments 😉  We heard of this trip in the summer of 2010, and casually talked about going, but nah… We both kept feeling the Lord leading us to take this trip together for fun and to grow as a couple spiritually.  We LOVE to travel and make memories together; and what better to walk where Christ has walked, taught, preached and rose from the tomb…. together… hand in hand.

Shalom everyone!  Our first travels took us to Tel Aviv-Yafo!  Thought to be named for Noah’s son, Japhet. From here Jonah ran from the Lord, set sail for Tarshish and was swallowed by a great fish (Jonah 1-4).   It was Tel Aviv-Yafo where the Lord healed the dead woman, Tabitha, through Peter. Peter lodged with Simon the tanner in Tel Aviv-Yafo as well (Acts 9:36-40).

The weather was cool and breezy, and the smell of the fresh Mediterranean see filled the air.  The sound of a Spanish mass and songs graced the streets near St. Peters Roman Catholic Church.

Kiosk stands aligned the streets and a variety of stores were open to welcome the evening shoppers.  The image above is a jewelry store.  The flag of Israel was proudly waved on the shops, homes, balcony’s, and across the land for Yom HaZikaron.  Israel’s Memorial Day (Yom HaZikaron), is celebrated the day before Israel’s Independence Day. It is dedicated to the memory of those who have given their lives to the State of Israel. This solemn day is celebrated on the 4th day of Iyar; it begins at sunset and concludes the following evening.

Our first guide was a beautiful woman named Yael Blum.  She was very sweet and very knowledgeable.

We were amazed at the FABULOUS doors in Tel Aviv!  So unique and one of a kind.  This city has a lot of “character.”

lots of cute cats…. and beautiful plant life.

…..and elegant wedding dresses from Julie Vino ( and Galia Lemel that are to die for!

If you have not had a chance to visit Israel, we recommend it.  It’s a trip you wont forget!  Tell us what you think?  We love to hear your feedback =)  XOXO
