Behind the lens – photographers in athens al

This past weekend Chase and I had an appointment with one of the SWEETEST couples, and we are thrilled to be the photographers for their wedding!!  It will be an outside ceremony at the Burritt on the Mountain in Huntsville AL, making a gorgeous setting for a wedding!!  We finished the appointment around 10am, and couldn’t just stay inside with the weather being in the low 70′s and sunny!  Who stays in-doors on a day like that!? I had gotten a brochure for U.G. White Mercantile from an event that had taken place at the VBC back in late fall of 2010.

About U.G. White Mercantile: Ulysses Grant White was born in Tennessee and was one of 12 children.  After a farming accident to where he lost his right arm, White started U.G. White Hardware in 1917.  He supplied to local farmers and Cotton Mill workers in Athens, Alabama and surrounding areas. Since 1937, U.G. White Hardware has been located at 101 Jefferson Street, Athens AL.  and is to this day a prominent place in Athens, AL.  They have all kinds of gifts, knives, cast iron skillets, bird feeders, candles, Tilley hats, pickled relishes, house-ware items, toys, rocking chairs, local honey and sorghum, pottery, you name it!  There are so many unique items in this store… plan to stay a while!  Seriously.  Expect some serious, friendly, southern charm when visiting =)

OH. SO. GOOD! southern cooked meal with Chicken and dumplings, fried okra, and green beans!!

Classic Closet is a nice consignment store with a great selection of wedding gowns and prom dresses, as well as cute in-style clothes.  They have been in the business for 17 years, and is the largest formal consignment shop in North Alabama.

Athens First Presbyterian Church is a gorgeous location for a beautiful wedding ceremony, established in 1829.
