Ale’s stunning bridal portrait session took place indoor AND outdoors near Creekside Wedding Plantation. Creekside is one of Huntsville’s hidden gems of a venue; nestled in the small town of Mooresville, Alabama amongst mature trees, flowering plant-life, and an estately southern plantation home; this wedding venue is a dream. She chose to go with the southern tradition to display her framed bridal portrait at the reception.

Our favorite part of this process is to help our clients find the portraiture that fits for their home, lifestyle, and how to display their artwork. This gorgeous session is also beautifully displayed in a heirloom bridal album that will be handed down for generations to come! Ale, you are a gorgeous bride, and we have been honored to work with your dear family.

Dave and Amanda’s enchanting garden-wedding was in the beautiful Huntsville Alabama at Creekside Plantation in the small town of Mooresville! They exchanged relaxed and joyous vows in the comfort of their friends and family amongst the spring blossoms!  Her vision for the day was to have a comfortable, down to earth, relaxed, wedding day… and it was just that with the exception of the wedding cake toppling over. These two lovebirds didn’t skip a beat, and carried on as if there was no care in the world. With the help of one of the best wedding planners in town, Kathleen Bernal Events, it went smooth and the day was effortless. They are the most relaxed and chill couple we have had the pleasure of working with; their images reflect that of a joyous and carefree day! The reception carried over into the evening on the property with their guests! Guests graciously mingled throughout the evening and danced until the music stopped.

Amanda’s chic choice of various shades of pink (still drooling over her blush wedding gown), green, and white were pulled off effortlessly in her style with the bridesmaid dresses, the white and green floral arrangements, and simple white linens accented with gold!  Their style and design surpassed many a wedding! We are incredibly grateful to have been a part of their special day! May you be blessed in all you do as you journey into the joys of marriage =)

These blush, white, and gold wedding colors are the perfect pastel pallet for the perfect wedding day.

Y’all, look at his surprised face. Can’t handle!Their custom engagement guestbook was a great way for guests to wish the happy couple best-wishes, and have the enjoyment of viewing engagement portraits as well! It’s a fun way to display the imagery in your home as well as getting to review who came to the wedding over and over again.

One of my favorite moments of the day. The excitement as they *just said their vows!

Such a fun and creative way for guests to share special wishes in the ball to open on their 1st wedding anniversary.

Spring is upon us, flowers are in bloom, the first warmth of the sun is peeking through the clouds and we are slowly putting away our coats! Our spring portrait sessions here in the lovely Huntsville, Alabama are in full swing, and we are thrilled to share one of our favorite portrait sessions here amongst redbud blossom trees. Andrew and Ali brought along their sweet pups to celebrate their wedding anniversary. We love to see our families grow with our furry friends, and the joy they bring to our families! We recently lost one of our family pups, and we are ever so grateful for have taken a family portrait session with her before her untimely passing. Are you in need of an update? Is there a life event to where you need a portrait session to celebrate life and your loved-ones? Spring is the time. New beginnings, fresh start, promise of a new day is upon us. In the mean time, go ahead and ooo and ahh over these two love-birds and their adorable animals! ~Jan

Hey sweet readers and friends! This past year and a half has been an absolute whirlwind… We have been through some of the happiest times in our life as a couple and shared some of the hardest trials in our marriage yet. It has been ultra challenging adjusting to having a new baby in our lives, learning to balance life with a business and baby, facing the death of dreams, plans, and loved-ones, and learning of life-altering diseases that have no cure of the people we love dearly. Dreams can become new ones, and God’s plans are bigger than ours. The people in our lives and the experiences we have can’t be remade, however. But in everything we are to give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18. In our darkest valley God is still good. It is then when we learn to cleave to Him more, and believe the truth of His promises recorded in the Bible.

Through much thought and prayer, we have decided to take the rest of the year off in 2016… Our plan is to finish-out our clients we have on the books, and take a sabbatical.  We have been in-limbo this past year, and feel the Lord leading us to take a break; to be intentional with our thoughts and decisions. Our culture celebrates going non-stop, and busyness. Psalm 46:10 reminds me daily to ‘Be still, and know that He is God!’ Have I been still? Have I taken the time to reflect and be intentional with my decisions? Are we coasting through life without inviting the Lord to lead? This is the time I want to be STILL and reflect. These next few months I want to just ‘BE’ with my son, my family, my art, creativity and marriage. I simply can’t be the friend, wife, mother, and artist if I feel as if I am being pulled in a number of directions.

So here we are, terrified we will be judged. All those years of sleepless nights, tears, and sweat down the drain for our business? Are we going to lose our friends we have made through the years in our business because of this? That is where we are trusting God. For months we have felt the Lord nudge us to make this decision, and we feel a peace. We are more than thrilled to see where the Lord takes us this year and next! I am excited to rest the mind and allow for creativity to flow again.

In the mean-time, if you want to see what we have been consumed with for the past 10 months, here is a look into our world these days…

    Jan & Chase,

As your parents, or at least half of your parents, we celebrate your decision as a couple!

It means the most to us how you arrived to this decision. We know God blessed you & Chase with baby Jack, and we have observed how Jack has brought more joy than you ever could’ve imagined.
Knowing you both, you probably struggled with this, praying alone, and together as a couple, seeking God’s will & direction.
In the end, you trusted God, and put this into the arms & care of Jesus, which is always the best place to abide.
    I’m reminded of the Scripture,
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Those who know your heart will understand, and the few who might not, will better understand, as they themselves seek God as their Lord and Savior.

If God is leading you and your sweet, precious family to do something, do so with peace and comfort. Don’t be afraid of being judged. Those who truly love you will always stand by you. You are so special and sweet and so loved. Hold your beautiful family close and enjoy life! Sending lots of love and prayers.ReplyCancel

Jan, I’d like to answer one of the questions that you posed….”Are we going to lose our friends we have made through the years in our business because of this?” The answer is a resounding “NO”! God leads us down a path we’re supposed to be on & it’s up to us to listen to Him & follow His word. Your true friends will understand & the people that don’t aren’t your friends.ReplyCancel

I think it takes great bravery and courage to take that leap of faith, it’s something only a few actually do.ReplyCancel

Jan, I feel blessed to have met you! You and Chase are brave! I am so proud to call you a friend!ReplyCancel

Back in May we had the chance to go to the wonderful island of Jamaica to Ocho Rios and photograph a lovely couple at the Couples Resort in Sans Souci, Heather and Rob! These two sweethearts met while working together in the office at UPS. Rob’s buddies chatted on the beauty that Heather possessed, but nothing came of it until life settled down for Rob and they slowly grew to become friends and then something more.

We absolutely love going to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for vacation, and working with this couple for their wedding just made the trip even more wonderful! We love to celebrate couples, marriage, and the joy it can bring if delicately watered and cultivated. Many years of happiness to Heather and Rob. You two are precious, and we couldn’t be any happier =)
